Music & Arts
Music and the arts are a vital part of our life and practice at the Community Church.  Whether it’s a Bach cantata, an African spiritual, a story in water color or a song about the delights of a spring morning–our organist, choirs and gifted artists lift our spirits, soothe our troubled hearts and unite us in our commitment to reach out in love to the world beyond our doors.

Whether you are a trained musician, an artist-in-the-making, or simply an arts lover, there’s a place for you here at the Community Church of Durham.

Sponsored Groups
Each year we sponsor several area music groups by furnishing space a reduced cost.  The groups give concerts at the church throughout the year.

Arts and Poetry
Throughout the year, we host several art exhibits.  Members and friends contribute photos, paintings and other types of art they’ve created–related to a particular theme.  At other times, we invite people to share their poetry and other artistic talents at special events.

To learn more about the possibilities, check out the current exhibit in the mezzanine–just outside the sanctuary on the upper level.
